The library isn't all bad; the other mathletes studying hard are there for company, chat and laughter. In the maths library we have often wondered what was kept in the locked cupboards

running along the walls where we always sit. We discovered recently they were full of a retired lecturer's stamp collection, random books and annuals when said lecturer sadly passed away recently, and they were getting emptied. Empty unlocked cupboards are always asking for someone to hide in them, so we fulfilled this desire for them.A couple of weeks ago Laura and I went through to Edinburgh to see a maths film called flatland which was showing in the Fimhouse. However the Gods and also the evil people at the Filmhouse conspired to stop us seeing the movie. But being us we thought we may as well do something

since we made the trek to Edinburgh. While sitting in Starbucks waiting for an official ghost tour to begin we decided it might be fun to do our own Haunted Edinburgh tour instead. So we did. Now there isn’t enough room here to put all 150 pictures we took up, these ones are just a couple of my
favourites but the rest are on bebo, with some awesome captions ala Laura, the Queen Captionator. On Wednesday night of last week we went to the GUU to see David’s band Decade playing to support the turtles (the cute sea kind, not the teenage mutant ninja ones). They are a pretty decent band who I would recommend if you get the chance to ever see them play. Also, how often do you see a mathematician, doctor and an engineer play on stage together? Before the band played David played an amazing duet with a “proper musician”, a cellist that he knows. I was pleasantly surprised by how good they went together!!

Last Saturday night I went with Laura to Miss Gillian’s birthday in Campus. Not my favourite venue but was good to see Gillian, Lynne and Roisin. Afterwards we went dancing in the cathouse with Aaron, fun once we got to dancing but it was a slow start. (We almost never made it out at all as we nearly got locked in a classroom in the maths building on the Friday! The only fun part of that would have been carrying out one of our elaborate escape plans).

In other news, Natalie is still pregnant, about 30 weeks now. It’s exciting, not long to go now!! The grad ball is just about fully organised, I hope it’ll be worth all the work we’ve put in, although I still don’t have a dress!! James has two new projects, My Life With Colin Farrell (in you tube enter Phonebooth 2:Call Waiting) and http://www.sendmeamixtape.net/. Go check them out!! Also happy 21st birthday to Jade today too. Finally I will probably be antisocial over the next few weeks, but please keep me up-to-date with what’s happening so I don’t get lost in the library!! Hope you are all doing well, have a great day!!
